BiodivEarth is pleased to highlight a new podcast series produced by our Community of Practice member, SMILO, following the Global Sustainable Islands Summit held in Gran Canaria in April 2026.
Bringing together island leaders, practitioners, policymakers and researchers, the series explores a range of topics including governance, marine conservation, sustainable finance, partnerships and the blue economy. Through these conversations, it showcases the wealth of knowledge, innovation and practical experience emerging from island communities around the world.
We believe that exchanging place-based knowledge is essential for strengthening the resilience in socio-ecological landscapes and seascapes. This is also the guiding principle behind our ongoing work to co-develop a catalogue of solutions in close collaboration with members of our Community of Practice. Designed as an evolving resource, the catalogue will continue to be enriched as more communities contribute their experiences, lessons learned and locally adapted practices, fostering knowledge exchange across regions and contexts.
We congratulate SMILO and all contributors for making these valuable insights widely accessible and look forward to continuing to learn from one another through our Community of Practice.
