BiodivEarth is committed to protecting biodiversity and maintaining healthy ecosystems

The founders of the organization emphasize the urgent need to accelerate the protection and sustainable management of the world’s ecosystems to address contemporary challenges. Additionally, their goal is to safeguard nature while enhancing the well-being of local populations. The board comprises several key members, including Gonzalo Oviedo, an anthropologist and international consultant specializing in socio-cultural conservation, and Paule Gros, a conservation biologist with extensive experience in applied research and philanthropy. Rachel Sturm contributes her expertise in administration and finance.

For the benefit of present and future generations, additionally, while respecting the rights of nature and people, BiodivEarth favors methods that directly involve the people concerned and acts with deep respect for the culture and rights of local and indigenous communities. It achieves its objectives by encouraging the development, implementation, and extension of effective models of conservation and sustainable management, furthermore supporting individuals and organizations dedicated to these efforts. BiodivEarth’s mantra is to ensure that the results and impact of conservation are sustainable.

BiodivEarth supports biodiversity conservation and sustainable management models in productive landscapes, seascapes, and protected areas through a variety of approaches. Partnership development: Establishing multi-stakeholder dialogues and collaborations to facilitate the development of platforms and communities of practice. Technical advice: Providing technical assessments of applied models and developing specific solutions to improve effectiveness and resilience. Promotion of proven models: Supporting the dissemination of effective models of conservation and sustainable management via communication and strategic influence. Provision of expert services: Providing expert services as required, leveraging internal expertise and networks to connect with key players and initiatives in relevant areas.

The operational team, led by Paule Gros as CEO with a doctorate in ecology, implements conservation and sustainable management projects. Moreover, Océane Cordoliani oversees communications, leveraging her expertise in environmental law and experience in communications and marketing. Together, this team integrates the needs of local and indigenous communities while safeguarding global biodiversity.
